At StarSpec, Mauro supports the assembly, integration, and testing of balloon-borne telescope systems, working across both electrical and mechanical subsystems. His role includes electronics prototyping and testing, cabling and harnessing, system troubleshooting, and supporting operational testing of integrated gondola systems.

Mauro also contributes to the design and development of custom electronics for StarSpec systems, including PCB design, power electronics, motor control, and supporting hardware. His work combines design and hands-on implementation, taking systems from early concepts and prototypes through bench testing and integration.

With a practical, multidisciplinary approach to engineering, Mauro works closely with StarSpec’s engineering team to solve electromechanical challenges, improve subsystem designs, and develop reliable hardware for demanding balloon-borne applications.
